Where to Buy Presidential in Michigan

Presidential is wholesale. It does not sell direct, to anyone. Every blunt, pre-roll, mini and jar of Moon Rocks reaches you through a licensed Michigan dispensary that chose to carry the brand.

This page lists every one of them.

They are grouped by the regions Pure Michigan uses to divide the state, because Michigan is not one place. It is two peninsulas, four Great Lakes and more freshwater coastline than any other state in the country — more than three thousand miles of it. The drive from Detroit to the Keweenaw is longer than the drive from Detroit to Atlanta.

What this page can and cannot tell you. It tells you which dispensaries carry Presidential. It cannot tell you what is on the shelf today — each shop decides independently which strains, which formats and how much to stock, and that changes by store and by week. Use the search at the bottom to find the closest one to you.

Every retailer on this page is a licensed Michigan dispensary that carries Presidential, supplied directly by our own retail partners.

Southeast Michigan

Detroit skyline and riverfront in Southeast Michigan

Pure Michigan frames this region around one idea: the comeback. Detroit is the heart of it, and the state's tourism board says so in those words.

The city built the twentieth century — the assembly line, the eight-hour day, the middle class that came with both — then lost most of it, then started building again. What's there now is a working downtown, a riverfront that used to be industrial and isn't, and neighbourhoods that never stopped being neighbourhoods whatever the rest of the country decided about them.

Around Detroit the region runs through Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties and out to Ann Arbor, a university town with its own gravity, and the Lake St. Clair shoreline north of the city.

Close to two-thirds of Presidential's entire Michigan network is here.

That's the highest concentration of any region in any state Presidential sells in. Not the largest count — California's Los Angeles County is bigger — but the largest share. Michigan's cannabis retail is Detroit-metro-weighted in a way California's is not.

The spread underneath the number is what makes it a real market rather than a big one. Detroit itself carries the most, then the ring around it: Warren, Royal Oak, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Pontiac, Taylor, Westland, Redford, Center Line, Mount Clemens, New Baltimore, and the downriver communities — River Rouge, Ecorse, Riverview, Inkster, Wayne. Ann Arbor sits west with its own scene.

That's a brand on shelves across an entire metro, not in three high-traffic corridors.

Southwest Michigan

Lake Michigan beach, dunes and pier lighthouses in Southwest Michigan

Pure Michigan describes this corner as beaches, amusements and the freshest tastes around. All three are literal.

The Lake Michigan shoreline runs the western edge — Warren Dunes, Silver Beach, the string of harbour towns that fill up every summer and empty every September. Inland, this is fruit country. Michigan grows more tart cherries, blueberries and asparagus than most states manage in any crop, and a good deal of it comes from here. There are more than a hundred and fifty wineries in the state and the Lake Michigan Shore appellation is one of the reasons.

Kalamazoo anchors the region inland, Benton Harbor and St. Joseph on the water, and New Buffalo sits at the Indiana line as the first Michigan town most Chicago traffic reaches.

This is Presidential's second market in the state, holding about a fifth of the network.

The pattern is different from Detroit. Southeast Michigan is one dense metro. Southwest is a chain of independent towns strung along a shoreline and a couple of interstates — Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Benton Harbor, Niles, New Buffalo, Coldwater, Constantine, Quincy. Reaching them means the brand travelled town by town rather than landing in one place and staying.

It's also the most seasonal part of the state. The shoreline population multiplies between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and retail out there moves with it.

East Central Michigan

Saginaw Bay river, tall ship and covered bridge in East Central Michigan

Pure Michigan calls this region family-friendly destinations and a bounty of hidden gems, which is a polite way of saying most people drive through it without stopping.

They're missing the thumb. Saginaw Bay cuts into the state's east side and the land around it is farm country, wetland and small harbour towns — the largest freshwater coastal wetland system in the United States sits along that shoreline. Frankenmuth turned Bavarian heritage into one of the state's most-visited towns. Bay City and Saginaw were lumber money before Detroit was car money.

Flint sits at the southern edge, another city that built the auto industry and got left holding the consequences, now doing its own rebuilding.

About one in eight of Michigan's Presidential retailers are here, across Flint, Bay City, Burton, Davison, Mount Morris, Corunna and Mount Pleasant.

It's a smaller network covering a lot of ground, and the towns are further apart than anywhere in the southern half of the state. The search at the bottom of this page does more work here than it does in the Detroit metro.

Elsewhere in Michigan

Presidential's reach across the rest of the state is thin, and it would be dishonest to dress it up.

West Central Michigan runs up the Lake Michigan shore through Muskegon, Ludington and the Manistee National Forest — dunes, harbours and some of the best freshwater beaches in the country.

The Upper Peninsula is a third of Michigan's land and about three percent of its people. Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, three hundred waterfalls, and Lake Superior on the north shore. You cross the Mackinac Bridge to get there and the whole place changes.

A small number of licensed retailers carry Presidential across both — Muskegon on the west shore, and one in the western Upper Peninsula.

Four of Pure Michigan's nine regions currently have no retailer carrying Presidential at all: Northeast Michigan, Northwest Michigan, and the Central and Eastern Upper Peninsula. They're named here because they're real parts of the state and because that won't always be true.
